The toner cartridges in question were discovered on the marketplace in Romania, and once tested appeared to lack RoHS and REACH certification, likely as a result of their high levels of decaBDE. 

DecaBDE is a toxic flame retardant, which, alongside the cartridges lack of certification for RoHS (restriction of Hazardous Substances) and REACH (Registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals), raises concerns about the health hazards and environmental destruction that could come to fruition due to the use of such cartridges. Prolonged exposure to decaBDE has been associated with many adverse health effects including encodrine disruption, developmental delays, as well as the inclusion of carcinogenic properties. 

Not only the use of, but also the improper disposal of these cartridges can have disastrous consequences, including the release of harmful substances into soil and water sources. 

These aren't the first, and won't be the last compatible toner cartridges found to lack certification and contain harmful substances. We'd always recommend our Partners the use of a remanufactured cartridges, with the knowledge that our Premium remanufactured toner cartridges are produced using an original OEM cartridge shell and components, ensuring certification is met and harmful substances are exempt, while delivering on your customers expectations for a fair price and an environmental solution.
